Dan’s little brother is getting married. Hazzah! We are so excited for Natalie to join the family in December. These two are darling together and I am so glad Joey found a girl as cool and as talented as Natalie. I was honored to take their engagement pictures. We had a great time and they were gracious enough to let me try out some new spots. Thanks for a wonderful evening guys — you were awesome and I think the pictures turned out great. Love you guys.

I had a lovely time at Heather and Jeff’s post-wedding engagement session. You might remember their lovely June wedding near Snowbasin. Since Jeff is in the military he didn’t get back to Utah until days before the wedding so we decided to do their engagement session after the wedding. They wanted to do something with the fall leaves. While the leaves have been a little lackluster this year we did find some. I think their session turned out great.

A couple weeks ago I had the fun opportunity to spend the day mentoring Mandi from Silverscape Photography. This was my first time mentoring another photographer and it was tons of fun. We spent the day going over shooting and post processing tips. In the afternoon my friends Sharida and Billy were kind enough to come model for us. These two lovebirds have been married for several years but hadn’t had any recent pictures taken. It was kind of a mock engagement shoot. This was the day we those crazy hurricane force winds in Farmington. It was a crazy windstorm and there were signs and trees down all over town. Thanks for braving the wind for us you two. I think these pictures turned out great despite the wind.

I really enjoyed teaching. I might be persuaded to do it again if anyone else is interested. In fact I am the featured speaker at this month’s Ogden Camera Club meeting. I will be speaking to members of the Ogden Camera Club this Thursday at 7 p.m.  at the Ogden Art Stop, 2484 Washington Blvd. The meeting is open to anyone wanting to learn more about photography so if you are interested in coming drop in.

Last week I had the great opportunity to attend a night shooting workshop with Dustin Izatt. Since I mainly shoot with natural light it was great to get more familiar with off-camera lighting and work on some of those skills. I am really excited to add more night shooting to what I do. Thanks to Dustin for being a great teacher and Shannon and Jess for coming and being such great models.

I had a blast at Susan and Cory’s engagements session. I thought it would be stormy but we got wind instead of rain. Yikes, it was windy. Susan and I go way back to junior high. We had a lot of classes together in our school days. We even ended up going to the same college. I hadn’t seen her since then so I was really excited when she emailed me about the wedding. It is always great to meet up with old friends. Dan and I are really looking forward to their wedding in July. Congrats guys!

Alicia and Ryan were so much fun. We went out to the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve for their engagement session. I had never been out there before but it was an awesome location. I have lived in Layton for most of my life and never knew that place was out there. It rained so hard that day I thought for sure we would get rained out, but the clouds parted long enough for us to do the session. Then when we finished it started to rain again and we got drenched on the way to the car. Good times. The past couple of years Alicia and I have become good friends. I am so excited she found such a great partner in Ryan. They are so happy and I think it shows in the photos. I can’t wait for their wedding in June.

This is my first attempt at an HDR shot. What do you all think about HDR? My husband loves it.

We seriously went all over downtown for Megan and Barry’s engagement session. These two have been dating for four years so they are pretty excited to finally be getting married. We had a great time and Megan and Barry seriously rocked it! I think the pics turned out awesome. Here are a few of my favorites.

Happy Anniversary! Aaron and Mimi wanted some pictures for their first anniversary and to give their family as Christmas gifts. I can’t believe it has been a whole year since they got married. It seems like it was just yesterday we were driving to the Logan temple for their wedding. See their wedding pictures here. It is so great when clients come back year after year. We went to the Garden Park Ward in Sugarhouse on a beautiful fall day. I think every other photographer in the valley had the same idea because it was soooo crowded. We had a great time though, thanks guys.

Dan and I had a great time with Kara and Marty at Bear Lake. It was a little rainy and cold but they were troopers during our photo shoot. It was so beautiful there with all the leaves turned gold. I think the photos turned out great. Hope you guys like them.
