Daybreak tween
I so enjoyed getting to know Avery and her mom better. She is such a talented girl. It was so fun that she brought her cat. I have loved getting to know all of these amazing kids. They are all so unique.
A little bit about Avery from her mom: "Avery Girl, Ave, Soobie, Sue, Sis are just some of the names that Avery will answer to! She is full of life! Avery is so funny and energetic. She is a total prankster, lover of music, animals, slime and FRIENDS! She lives for her friends and never gets tired of spending time with her besties! She loves to have dance parties and stay up late! She has a beautiful voice & makes everyone around her feel loved!"
"What I love most about Avery right now is watching her grow and mature into a kind, silly, responsible young woman. We can't believe she will be a teenager in a few months. What I love most about her is that she will always be our sweet Avery Girl!"
"Avery is a very talented writer! She has kept a journal since she was 8 years old. Her first Journal was a gift that she received on her Baptism day. I wish I could take the credit for her journaling habit but it was all her, she just picked it up on her own. She has a total of 8 FULL journals & is working on her 9th. I love the way that she writes & and her ability to put her thoughts and feelings on paper. Her journals are treasures and we will keep every single one!" — Avery's mom
"One of my happiest memories took place at the, “Happiest place on earth”. I remember it often and smile. When Avery was two years old our extended family took a three-day vacation to, Disneyland. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel so we were surrounded with magic 24/7. We had four grandchildren with us and three of the four were two years old. Avery refused to ride in a stroller. She didn’t walk, she excitedly ran from one ride to the next for three days. It was hard to keep up with her. We ended up having to put a child harness and leash on her so we could keep track of her. Her excitement and love for Disneyland hasn’t waned." — Avery's grandmother
"Avery makes me laugh with so many things. The way she treats our cats, the dances she does when playing, and many of the interactions she has with her mom. Avery has been making us laugh since she was a baby." — Avery's dad
"She makes friends easily. She has a genuine love for little fur babies and knows how to take care of, bottle feed, and bathe the tiniest little animals. She has a beautiful voice and I love hearing her sing. She plays the guitar, and knows how to throw a great dance party. She mentioned that she wants to play volleyball, and I’m positive it will become one of her many talents." — Avery's grandmother
"There are so many, but here are a few... Avery has a beautiful voice! We love to hear her sing. She loves little children and babies which is part of why she is a very good babysitter. She goes the extra mile by washing dishes and cleaning up. Parents love to have her babysit." — Avery's grandparents
"During a camping trip last summer, Avery was saddened by a chipmunk that had just been run over by vehicle near our campsite. Avery asked if we could somehow provide and final resting place for the chipmunk. She made sure with the help of her sister to make a grave with wild flower decorations and painted rocks so that the chipmunk had beautiful resting place. Avery always expresses concern of her family and friends that they are alright and included in functions or fun activities." — Avery's grandfather
"I also love the memories we had of taking our kids to the animal shelter. Avery has always LOVED animals. One day we went and Avery spotted her now cat, Stella. She just HAD to hold her. She was on cloud nine and I had never before seen a cat able to withstand the amount of “love” Avery showed. She had to have her! So many memories since then have been of Avery treating that cat like it was an infant baby, and Stella acting dead to get through it." — Avery's aunt
"One day Ave was getting ready to go to a friend’s house to play. She shoved one of her large cats in her backpack (without her mom knowing) and headed off down the street. I can only imagine the struggle she had shoving the big cat in that pack (I’m sure it was a fight) and the thought of her rollerblading down the street with a backpack stuffed full with a cat, squirming to get out, is hilarious!" — Avery's grandmother
"She has the most amazing voice. I love to hear her voice. She will wander around the house singing under her breath. I don’t even think she knows how beautiful she sounds even when she is just thoughtlessly singing." — Avery's aunt
"Ever since Avery was tiny I was always so amazed by her ability to make friends. We would go to a park to play and within a few minutes she was off with a new little buddy. She was born with a special gift. She has always been approachable and is able to make others feel comfortable. When she was younger she would keep a close eye on the "buddy bench" at her school. The "buddy bench" was a place that kids could go if they were feeling alone or didn't have a friend to play with at recess. Several elementary school teachers would comment how she was always including kids the were sitting on the bench. Its been neat to see this quality grow with her." — Avery's mom
"Avery has many talents, but the first that comes to mind is her voice.....its beautiful! She loves to sing and we love to hear her sing! It’s a talent that she was born with, for sure! She has always had a beautiful tone and can pick out the harmony for every song! She's a natural!" — Avery's mom
