It was a big night for me at the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association awards banquet on Friday. Not only did I earn my IPPA Fellow, I got first place in the Master Illustrative division. (Since I became a Master Photographer earlier this year I now compete only against other Master Photographers.) I also got a special pin for having four or more prints score over 80 (out of 100).
As a new board member, this was my first year on the print competition committee. This awards banquet was the culmination of so many hours of work. Between planning the logistics of the competition, hiring judges, tabulating scores, ordering awards — it was a big job. It was also so much fun and I am excited to do it all again next year.
While we are on the topic of print competition and awards, I have been working hard at the national level. In April I received a Master of Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America. I am super excited to walk at the degree ceremony in Dallas in February.
